About
Main bio
I spend my days analyzing customer behavior and human interaction with technology. Working on the front lines of the telecom industry, I am exposed daily to complex user pain points. These friction points are usually intense and explicitly noticeable; after all, if a digital interface is working seamlessly, a customer doesn't have to step into a physical store for support. Experiencing these software gaps firsthand completely shapes how I sit down to design interfaces, proving that rigorous user research is the only way to build sustainable digital products.
That frontline perspective serves as my anchor, whether I'm digging through endless corporate user research or making educated guesses with limited data. I've worked within strict, established component libraries and I've built entire design systems from scratch—but no matter the constraints, what stays consistent is asking deep questions, collaborating with people who bring diverse tech expertise to the table, and shipping solutions that keep users from experiencing that frustrating point of failure.
Currently, I'm a top-performing retail expert at T-Mobile, navigating a high-volume, fast-paced environment where I am consistently recognized for overperforming on sales metrics and turning customer frustrations into loyalty. To me, great customer service is the exact same discipline as great user experience: both require deep empathy, active listening, and root-cause troubleshooting.

I also go by Vale!
When I'm not designing, you'll find me playing the piano alongside my three cats, pulling a perfect, zero-sugar espresso shot at home, or hunting through local Nashville thrift stores for mid-century apartment decor. Originally from Venezuela and living in Music City for the past 8 years, I come from a family split between creatives and techies, which keeps me endlessly curious and crafty.
MY work story
Starting with why, not what
Before jumping into wireframes, I want to understand what problem we're actually solving. Sometimes the thing people ask for isn't the thing they need. My favorite projects start with good questions and end with solutions that feel obvious in hindsight.
think first, draw later.
no perfect world here!
Designing for real constraints
Perfect conditions don't exist. Budgets are tight, timelines are aggressive, legacy systems are messy, and sometimes you just can't talk to users directly. I'm comfortable making smart decisions with imperfect information and finding creative solutions within real limitations.
Collaboration over hero design
The best work happens when designers, engineers, and product folks are actually talking to each other—not throwing things over the wall. I genuinely enjoy the back-and-forth of figuring out what's possible, what's practical, and what's going to create the most value.
we, not me.
details build trust.
Making the invisible visible
Some of the most impactful design work isn't flashy—it's the progress indicator that keeps people oriented, the auto-save that prevents panic, the validation message that actually helps instead of just saying 'error.' These details build trust.

Timeline

T-Mobile
Studying user behavior and human interaction on the front lines of retail. I spend my days tracking real-world customer pain points during major digital rollouts, serving as a direct bridge between our everyday users and the engineering teams. I take complex system limitations and turn them into actionable feedback to make our digital tools smoother and improve customer retention.

Freelance
Ran the end-to-end digital experience update for a children’s home non-profit organization. I conducted user research and platform analysis to simplify user flows, using the deep human stories of the children to protect the brand while restructuring the design to build trust and successfully increase digital donations.

Dalton Agency
Led the user interface strategy and design direction for large-scale interactive installations under tight timelines. I collaborated cross-functionally alongside software engineers and business strategists to map out layout architectures, using agile workflows to clear design bottlenecks and ship responsive digital products.
